Our Ranch Story

Music Meadows Guest Ranch was born of Elin Parker Ganshow’s passion for ranching and passion for people coming together through her entrepreneurial spirit. Elin grew up with two brothers and three sisters, learning ranching from her Dad and spending as much time horseback as possible. She learned to cook and be a gracious hostess from her Mom. Elin achieved a B.S. in Animal Science from Colorado State University and married into a ranching family and raised two sons and two daughters who also caught the passion for ranching.

One of Elin’s greatest joys is to see people learning about cattle, land and horses at this beautiful ranch and vesting time together as family and friends. But her vision can only be carried out by surrounding herself with an amazing team.

Ranch Team

Welcome to our website!  I grew up in ranching and chose it as a vocation after obtaining a B.S. in Animal Science from Colorado State University.  The guest ranch was developed as a way to connect the dots of an enterprising spirit and a love of people-horses-land and cattle.  I raised two sons and two daughters who also have pursued agriculture. I love seeing people enjoy and appreciate the ranch my parents were wise enough to buy and which I have enjoyed since 1960.  I hope to see you at the ranch!

Guest Ranch Manager & Guide

Howdy, I’m Nicole. I met Elin when I was 12, begging to ride her horses. After I earned my place with her, she took me under her wing and has taught me all I know about the ranch over the last 10 years. Music Meadows has changed my life and given me a huge passion for agriculture and people. Come see our amazing views and ride with me. I promise I will share my passion and teach you about our way of life.

Ranch Manager

Welcome to all who visit the Wet Mountain Valley or Music Meadows Ranch. My name is Rhoda. I was born and raised on a ranch here in the valley. I have been involved in agriculture all of my life. My accomplishments are a result of my parents teachings, hard work and experiences. I tend to cattle, irrigating, care taking of hay ground and pastures, not to mention many other responsibilities on Music Meadows Ranch.

“Enjoyed an amazing week …”

“Enjoyed an amazing week at the Music Meadow Ranch in September. We purposefully looked for a different experience than the typical dude ranches and found exactly what we were hoping to experience. We loved the idea of being the only guests staying at the ranch and Elin’s staff did an amazing job of making us feel very welcome and teaching us how to saddle and manage our horses.”
