The Gateway to the Horse
Come to Music Meadows to learn the intricate and detailed ways we can communicate with horses, building confidence and leadership within yourself during the process. Start each morning off with a hearty breakfast and enjoy your coffee on the back porch as you watch the horses come in for their day's work. Meet your coach at the barn where she will teach you to catch your own ranch horse for the stay, saddle up, lunge your horse to gain respect, and ride with clear communication and confidence. Each day you will be setting a goal for your horsemanship and our coaches will walk alongside you to achieve that goal. Use your new skills and build trust with your horse as you learn to master the walk, trot, and lope and seeing new sights each day like the famous Crystal Falls and Crestone Needles Peaks right in our backyard. This will surely fill your heart with achievement and adventure. When your activities are done for the day, soak in the creek bubbling through the yard or play some family games like horseshoes while you are waiting for your made-from-scratch dinner to be made. Have a bonfire with your family into the night until the stars come out and you can lay on in the grass finding the constellations of the Milky Way.Itinerary
When you choose this stay, you can be assured you will leave with more knowledge than you arrived with. We will take the time to share the clear ways horses communicate with each other and with you. You will learn and practice communicating clearly back with them, being a good and fair leader, and building a relationship with the horse based on trust. You will improve your confidence and horsemanship on the ground as well as on their backs, no matter what skill level you show up with. Join us on this authentic western adventure and practice real and necessary horsemanship skills that are guaranteed to teach you things about yourself you can carry into your life even off the ranch.

"To say this place is beautiful is an understatement! We went with the all-inclusive option over New Years and engaged in the horsemanship clinic. It was MAGICAL! We got to train the horses, learn how to saddle, ride, have picnics out on the ranch, sit at night by a beautiful bonfire and the experience is one we will talk about for YEARS! The staff are incredible and delivered a true ranch experience which is exactly what we were looking for. A quant and well appointed ranch house, great homestyle food, numerous rides and time with the horses...it was UNBELIEVABLE! If you're looking for a luxury, bougie type of experience this isn't for you, but if you want comfortable, warm, real, authentic, a place filled with love, laughter and adventures and you can flex with ranch time, then DO NOT HESITATE!!!"
I highly recommend Music Meadows Ranch! The most wonderful family experience, one we can’t wait to repeat. A unique atmosphere, amazing people and delicious food. The communication with Nicole from the beginning to the end of our trip was so good. Elin and Madeline are awesome instructors and you leave feeling like you’ve made new friends. They are both kind and patient teachers, whom you’ll learn so much horsemanship from. No boring rides here; you will cross creeks, go up and down the mountain sides and duck through aspens! The landscape and views are breathtaking! Whether you’re looking up at the Sangre de Cristo peaks or down at the valley below, it is all picture perfect. The farmhouse is quaint and comfortable, and everyone we encountered was very welcoming. I can’t say enough good things about Music Meadows Ranch, book a trip there and I guarantee you’ll agree. Truly a hidden gem!
"Breathtakingly beautiful in every shape and form. Retreat to paradise where you can step back into history with the cabin and barn. All your stresses slip away at Music Meadows Ranch. Wake up to see horses right outside your window, which was a dream come true for our daughters. Elin and Nicole were the most patient and encouraging teachers to make sure we were safe and had fun riding the horses solo! Sherri cooked the best meals made with love! This experience is unlike anything our family has ever encountered. Do yourself a favor and book a trip to Music Meadows Ranch. You won’t regret it! They’ll become your family and you’ll feel so loved every step of the way!"
