Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: What is the age limit?
A: The age limit for "big" rides is 5 years old. Wagon rides or "Lil Britches Ride" is suitable for those 4 and under. - Q: What is the weight limit?
A: We are most concerned about your fitness for riding which impacts your safety and the health of our horses. The 1st check is for BMI (Body Mass Index) of 30 or LESS. We also have a weight limit of 265lbs. - Q: What is served for lunch?
A: We bring seasonally appropriate food made with our Sangres Best Grassfed beef such as a BBQ wrap (summer) or sliders (winter), vegetables and/or fruit, potatoes or a starch, dessert like homemade cowboy cookies, and a beverage like our famous homemade hot chocolate or lemonade. - Q: What should I bring?
A: We will send you a full list once you book, but plan on bringing water, sunscreen, seasonally appropriate clothing including jeans and close toed shoes.
- Q: Can I bring a backpack?
A: We do not allow guests to wear backpacks, however we do provide saddlebags to bring your things with you. - Q: Are we allowed to trot and lope (go faster)?
A: We encourage everyone to ride "up to" their abilities. Speed allowed is determined by your guide based on your coachability and control of your horse, footing, and other variables. Be assured we want you to have the time of your life and will do everything we can to provide that for you, safely. - Q: Do we ride up into the mountains?
A: We have access to about 5,000 acres of ranchlands including aspen tree groves, lots of meadows, hills, and prairie. Depending on the type of ride (Crystal Falls goes up into National Forest), you will likely encounter lots of meadows where you will have great footing to practice your new riding skills. We will also make sure and enjoy the aspen groves and creeks, especially while we enjoy lunch. - Q: How many people will be in our group?
A: Our max group size is 8 total riders. Depending on the day, it it totally possible for you to have a private ride with our guides but at the very least will be semi-private with one or two more small groups joining you. - Q: Do you take out single riders?
A: We do! However, with the two person minimum on the rides, a single rider will pay a 50% upcharge to ride by themselves. Call to request to be added to another group.
